Teltonika FMB003
FMB003 is the easiest GPS tracker to install. Plug it into the OBD-II port and it works. No tools, no panels to remove, no wiring.
What is in the box
- FMB003 device (with a 1NCE SIM already installed)
- Sticker with IMEI and QR code
- Warranty card (24 months)
Step by step
- Find the OBD-II port. On every car after 2001 (petrol) or 2004 (diesel) the port sits under the dash on the driver side, around the left knee. It is often hidden behind a small plastic flap labelled "OBD" or "Diagnose".
- Plug FMB003 into the port. The connector only fits one way - you cannot insert it wrong. Push gently until it clicks into place.
- Turn the key to ACC (do not start the engine). FMB003 powers up automatically. The LEDs light up for about 30 seconds.
-
Check the LED indicators.
- 🟢 Green (PWR) - solid = powered
- 🟡 Yellow (GPS) - solid = GPS fix ready (allow 30-60 sec under open sky)
- 🔵 Blue (GSM) - blinking = connected to our server
- Wait for the first packet in the dashboard. Open the dashboard and within 2-5 minutes your car appears online.
Discreet installation (optional)
The OBD-II port is usually visible under the dash - anyone opening the door will spot it. For better anti-theft we sell an OBD extension cable (15 €) that lets you tuck FMB003 somewhere hidden (behind the dash, under a seat) and leave just an empty plug in the port. Email support if you want one.
Frequently asked questions
No LEDs light up after plugging in
Turn the key to the ACC position (one click from LOCK). Some cars cut OBD power when the key is out. If LEDs still do not light, check that FMB003 is fully seated in the port.
I do not see the device in the dashboard
Wait 5-10 minutes. The first GPS fix can take up to a minute outdoors. If after 15 minutes there is still no position, unplug FMB003 and plug it back in. If that does not help, email support with the IMEI.
Will FMB003 cause any issue with the car?
No. The device is CE/E-mark certified and works on the same principle as any OBD diagnostic tool. Idle draw with the engine off is around 5 mA - it does not drain the battery in normal daily use.
What do I do when the car goes to a workshop?
Unplug FMB003 before handing the car over (the workshop may block it during OBD scans). After you get the car back just plug it in again. No config or data is lost.
Can I move it to another car?
Yes. Just pull it from the old car and plug into the new one. No system changes needed.
